Wayne County Communities

Wayne County's rolling hills, lush woods, and scenic farmland make it a charming place for residents and visitors alike.

Known as the "Gateway to Amish Country," Wayne and the surrounding counties are home to the world's largest Amish population.  Amish people are known for their peaceful ways and timeless lifestyle.  A large number of restaurants, shops and stores feature authentic Amish products, from food to furniture.  Visitors from around the country visit our unique shops and museums.

Wayne County also provides a wealth of educational opportunities.  The College of Wooster, University of Akron Wayne College, The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI), and Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) are located here.
